The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office is a full service law enforcement agency responsible for covering approximately 602 square miles. We provide all aspects of law enforcement: jail, civil processing, disaster services, driver's licensing, concealed weapons permits, and emergency dispatching.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office strives for perfection and takes great pride in our motto, "Expect the Best." It is our goal to provide the highest quality law enforcement, ensuring the safety of our communities through commitment, integrity and trust. The Canyon County Sheriff's Office uses available community resources wisely to accomplish this goal.

Sergeant Shawn Naccarato of the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office was recently awarded the prestigious Crime Scene Reconstructionist Certification from the International Association for Identification (IAI).  The certification makes him one of only 16 certified Reconstructionists in the entire country, and the only one in the State of Idaho.

Canyon County Sheriff’s Deputies Michael Roth and Brad Childers were recognized today by the Safariland Saves Club, which honors law enforcement officers who have been saved in the line of duty while wearing one of Safariland’s life-saving products.


The Idaho Sheriffs' Association has passed a resolution on gun violence in response to the tragic event at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.


Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue issued the following statement in response to the gun violence reduction plan announced by the White House.
